COTTBUS MASTERPLAN
Cottbus has to deal with shrinkage.
That is why new concepts are needed to generate special qualities that make the city more attractive and provide new functions. In this project a solution was sought to connect the city to the river and to bring the surrounding nature inside to the city.
The urban plan contains three zones. The middle area with tourist and leisure activities organized at the bay. A second quiet residential area with terraced houses on the water and a third area with offices and commerce, separated by a long volume to prevent nuisance of traffic in the recreational area.
